Terminology
Docker Container: an open source application container engine that allows developers to package their applications and dependencies into a portable container in a uniform way and then publish them to any server (including popular Linux machines, Windows machines) that has Docker installed, and virtualize them. Containers are completely sandboxed and don’t have any interface to each other (similar to an iPhone app). There is little performance overhead and it can be easily run on machines and data centers. Most importantly, they do not depend on any language, framework or system.
